Please carefully read the following information before starting your Chardham Helicopter Yatra.

Safety & Operations

Helicopter Weight Policy

Weight limitations are an important part of safe helicopter operations in the Himalayan terrain.

450 KG

Maximum Capacity

Maximum helicopter weight capacity is 450 kg, excluding baggage weight. Passenger boarding depends on load and temperature conditions, and the pilot's call will be final.

Passenger Seating

The seating capacity of the helicopter is 06 passengers.

Overweight Charges

Overweight charges are applicable for passengers weighing above 75 kg, calculated on the combined permissible weight of the group.

Incorrect Weight Declaration

If a discrepancy is found between the declared weight and the actual weight at the time of weighing, a penalty of INR 20,000 will be imposed, along with applicable overweight charges as per the overweight criteria.

Please keep your baggage within the prescribed limit throughout the entire journey.

Only one baggage weighing a maximum of 5 kg is allowed per passenger.

Baggage Rules

  • Only one baggage up to 5 kg is permitted per passenger.
  • Suitcases and big travel bags are not permitted in the helicopter.
  • Duffle bags will be provided by the team on the day of arrival.
  • Luggage weight may be checked at all the Dhams.
  • Excess baggage attracts a penalty of INR 500 per kg.
  • Excess baggage may be offloaded if it exceeds permissible aircraft limits.

Arrival Planning

Report to Dehradun one day prior to the flying date and plan arrival around 03:00 PM or earlier.

Booking Details

Provide correct arrival and departure details at the time of booking.

Weight Declaration

Submit accurate body weight and consider the weight of clothes and shoes.

Report on Time

Daily departures have fixed timings. Report according to the scheduled ETD.

Pack Thoughtfully

Keep baggage within the 5 kg limit to avoid inconvenience and excess baggage charges.

Weather Flexibility

Be prepared for schedule changes caused by weather and other operational circumstances.

Be Prepared for Possible Changes

Flying in hills is subject to bad weather and various force majeure factors. These may include delayed Air Traffic Clearances/Permissions, VVIP movements, valley flying by Indian Air Force (NOTAM), sudden occurrence of technical snag in aircraft, illness of flying crew or late reporting of passengers at the helipads, among other circumstances.
